It has been almost a year since Jujutsu Kaisen first aired, and in that time, the show has not hesitated to kill off major characters.

So far, nine major characters have died in Jujutsu Kaisen. Some of these deaths were tragic, while others were simply brutal.

1. Yoshino Junpei

Yoshino Junpei was one of the first major characters to die in Jujutsu Kaisen. He was a member of the Occult Research Club and one of their strongest fighters. He was killed by a powerful curse called the Black Friars. The Black Friars is a group of cursed spirits that were once human. They are incredibly powerful and kill anyone they come across. Junpei’s death was a huge shock to the team and really motivated them to get stronger so they could protect others from suffering the same fate.

2. Kento Nanami

Kento Nanami is Jujutsu Tech’s student council president and the one who initially started the whole Jujutsu Tech incident. He was possessed by a powerful curse called the “black gojo” which gave him immense strength and durability. However, it also made him lose his sanity and he went on a rampage, killing many people. The other students were able to subdue him using their jujutsu techniques but he eventually died from his injuries.

3. Masamichi Yaga

Masamichi Yaga was a student at Jujutsu High School and a member of the Gojo Clan. He was killed by Megumi Fushiguro in the anime’s first season.

He was a very talented and skilled fighter, but his arrogant attitude often put him at odds with his peers. He was fiercely loyal to the Gojo Clan and was willing to lay down his life in defense of it.

4. Fushiguro Toji

Fushiguro Toji is the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer in the series and one of the main protagonists. He is a first-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College and is part of the college’s jujutsu sorcerer course. He is also part of Gojo Satoru’s group of elite students, known as the “Cursed Child Platoon”.

Toji is a tall young man with light brown hair, which he keeps styled in a pompadour. He has green eyes and a small mole under his left eye. He wears the standard uniform for Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, which consists of a white button-up shirt, black trousers, and a black jacket with white lining. On his right wrist, he wears a red bracelet with four black dots arranged in a square. This bracelet allows him to channel his jujutsu and control his cursed energy.

Toji is shown to be a highly skilled jujutsu sorcerer, despite only being a first-year student. He was able to fight on par with Megumi Fushiguro, who is considered one of the strongest jujutsu sorcerers in the world. Toji is also incredibly brave, as he was willing to fight Sukuna despite knowing that he was outmatched and would most likely die if he fought him head-on.

Despite his skills and courage, Toji does have some flaws. He can be quite reckless at times and has a habit of charging into battle without thinking things through. He also tends to be quite stubborn, as he often refuses to back down even when faced with overwhelming odds.

5. Ultimate Mechamaru

Ultimate Mechamaru was killed byGeto Daisuke during the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College Invasion Arc. His death served as a major catalyst forGeto’s Heisei-era transformation into the hero known as “The King of Iron”.

Mechamaru was a cyborg created by Tobio Shirogane, a scientist and former student of Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College. He was designed to protect the college from any threats that might arise.

Unfortunately, he ended up becoming one of them when he was corrupted by dark forces and went on a rampage. Geto was able to destroy him after a fierce battle, saving the college and its students in the process.

6. Mai Zenin

Mai Zenin was an important character in Jujutsu Kaisen. She was a powerful sorceress who was killed by Sukuna. Her death had a profound impact on the characters of Jujutsu Kaisen, and her loss is still felt by those who knew her.

Mai was one of the top five Jujutsu Sorcerers in the world and a member of the Zenin family. She was highly respected for her strength and wisdom, particularly by Yuta Okkotsu, who looked up to her. Mai was also a friend of Yuji Itadori, and she trained him in the art of Jujutsu sorcery.

Despite her power and skill as a sorcerer, Mai was ultimately killed in battle with Sukuna. Her death is remembered fondly by many characters throughout the series and serves as an important reminder to all Jujutsu sorcerers that even the strong can fall against powerful opponents.

7. Dagon

Dagon was one of the 72 Pillars of Sodom, and the leader of the Eight Fingers. He was a powerful sorcerer who could control water and had the ability to shapeshift. Dagon was killed by Sukuna after he attempted to absorb Sukuna’s power.

8. Muta Kokichi (Mechamaru)

The first major character death occurred during the Tokyo Goodwill Event arc. This arc saw the death of Megumi Fushiguro’s master, Gojo Satoru. Gojo was killed by Sukuna, the powerful curse that possesses Megumi.

Muta Kokichi was a powerful young jujutsu sorcerer who was killed by Megumi Fushiguro. Kokichi was a member of the Jujutsu Tech Department, and was responsible for maintaining the school’s magical barrier. He was also a close friend of Fushiguro’s, and the two often worked together.

Kokichi was killed when he attempted to rescue Fushiguro from the clutches of the cursed spirit, Ryoumen Sukuna. Kokichi’s death was a tragic loss for both Fushiguro and the Jujutsu Tech Department, and his sacrifice helped save Fushiguro’s life.

Conclusion

Jujutsu Kaisen has been nothing less than an emotional roller coaster for its viewers. The show has a knack for presenting characters with intense and dynamic relationships, making every death very impactful. From Satoru Gojo to Megumi Fushiguro, each character’s death was heartbreaking in its own way, leaving us to mourn them until the next arc arrives. With plenty more arcs still to come, there is no telling who will be affected by tragedy—but we can only hope that their deaths will bring about greater good for our beloved Jujutsu world.
